How to Install the Scope:
A scope mounted with regards to the rifle ensures proper cheek weld on the stock for a stable firing position and allows for rapid target acquisition. We recommend the usage of the lowest conceivable ring height. No specific clearance is required, however the scope must clear the bolt deal with, hammer (on lever actions and handguns), sights, and barrel. When installed, ensure that your scope does not interfere with firearm operation, and does not make contact with anything with the exception of for the mount rings.
Establishing Eye Relief:
With the scope as far forward within the mounts as conceivable, hold the rifle for your normal shooting position. (Variable power scopes must be set on the highest magnification for this process). Slowly move the scope to the rear just until you’ll see a full field of view. Position your scope here for maximum eye relief. Without disturbing the optimal eye relief position, rotate the scope until the elevation adjustment dial is on the top of the scope. From a firing position, check to ensure that the vertical hair of the reticle aligns with the vertical axis of the firearm. Misalignment is not going to have an effect on accuracy at moderate distances but it might probably diminish long range accuracy. When you find yourself satisfied, tighten the ring screws flippantly and securely.
Focusing the Reticle:
Secure the scope and firearm in a firm rest. Safely point the scope at a light colored background object. With the scope approximately four inches out of your eye the reticle must appear sharp and crisp; if it does not, it will be important to adjust the focal point by way of the eyepiece.
Making Precise Windage and Elevation Adjustments:
The style of elevation and windage adjustments on AIM rifle scopes is clearly marked in easy to read increments. There are four hash marks from zero to (and including) the #1 on an adjustment knob, the value of every increment of adjustment on that knob is 1/4-MOA. It’s the same with all AIM adjustment dials. One-MOA moves the point of have an effect on at 100 yards by 1inch. At 100 meters, it moves 29mm. The letters found the windage and elevation dials refer to the direction that the point of have an effect on of the bullet is moved when an adjustment is made. To make a correction, simply rotate the adjustment cover counterclockwise until it “pops up,” fully revealing the adjustment indication markings, and make the proper correction. To safe the adjustment cover, push down at the same time as tightening the cover.
